Frequently Asked Questions about the Paris Day Trip from London by Eurostar

Your day trip includes reserved return seats on the Eurostar, a friendly meet and greet service at St Pancras International by a Golden Tours representative, and depending on your chosen package, a one-hour River Seine sightseeing cruise, a hop-on hop-off open-top bus tour, and/or a 1-day Paris Travelcard covering zones 1 to 3. You’ll also receive a detailed map of Paris to help you get around and make the most of your visit.

Food and drinks are not included unless you upgrade to Eurostar Plus, which includes a meal service. Transport to and from St Pancras Station in London is also not covered, so you’ll need to make your own way to the meeting point.

The meeting point is outside Paul Le Café (Unit 2) at St Pancras International Station in London. You’ll be greeted by a Golden Tours representative who will provide your travel documents and assist you with check-in. It’s important to arrive with plenty of time, as check-in for the Eurostar closes 30 minutes before departure. The meet & greet time is 5:45am Monday to Friday and 5:15am on Saturdays, with train departures at 7:00am on weekdays and 6:30am on Saturdays. Train times may vary, and your exact departure details will be confirmed via email approximately 10 days before your travel date.

The Eurostar offers a smooth and comfortable ride from London to Paris in around 2 hours and 15 minutes, passing through the Channel Tunnel. Once you board, you can sit back and relax all the way to Gare du Nord Station in central Paris.

Eurostar Plus is an upgraded travel class that includes extra legroom, larger reclining seats, and a delicious light meal served at your seat, with a choice of two dishes and a selection of hot and cold beverages. Like Standard Class, you can bring two large bags and one piece of hand luggage, with no weight limits. It’s a great option if you want a more premium, comfortable travel experience.

You’ll have a full day to explore the French capital at your own pace. Must-see landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame, and the Louvre Museum, home to the Mona Lisa. You could also take time to visit the Paris Catacombs, shop on the Champs-Élysées, or simply relax in one of the city’s charming cafés. With a 1-day Travelcard, you’ll have easy access to public transport including the metro, RER, buses, and trams.

If you choose the cruise option, you’ll enjoy a 1-hour boat ride along the River Seine, offering stunning views of many of Paris’s most famous sights. It’s a peaceful way to take a break from walking while still enjoying iconic landmarks, with audio commentary included.

The hop-on hop-off bus tour is a fantastic way to see the city. On arrival at Gare du Nord, make your way to the tour’s starting point at 11 Rue Auber, about a 30-minute walk via Rue La Fayette. Buses run every 20 to 30 minutes, and you can hop off at major sights such as the Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, and Eiffel Tower.

You’ll need to carry a valid passport, which will be checked during check-in at St Pancras. Be sure to check whether you need a visa to enter France before you travel. Your tickets will be issued under the lead passenger’s name, and while we do our best to keep parties seated together, Eurostar seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be together.

After your day in Paris, make your way back to Gare du Nord Station at least 45 minutes before your scheduled train departure. You’ll then board your return Eurostar to London St Pancras International, arriving back in the evening after an unforgettable day exploring Paris.

We’re able to offer such great value because all Eurostar tickets are purchased well in advance, meaning you benefit from early-bird pricing even if you book close to the travel date. These savings are passed on directly to you—so you don’t need to shop around for better deals!
